The growth of the Albright College endowment is one of the College's highest priorities. With a larger endowment the College has greater flexibility in reacting to economic cycles and has additional resources to attract and retain the best and brightest students and faculty. Endowment funds can support scholarships, professorial chairs, research, facilities, commencement awards, book awards, and various other needs that fall within advancing the mission of Albright College.
Alumni and friends have elected to assist Albright College by establishing an endowed fund. To learn more about establishing an endowed fund please select from the list.

Faculty Endowments
Attractive opportunities exist to endow chairs in the College. Albright has 91 full-time faculty. Currently, endowed chairs include Dr. P. Kenneth Nase Chair of Biology, the William and Mary E.C. Dearden Professor of Business, and an anonymous chair in business.
Endowed funds for faculty are critical in attracting and retaining the best faculty to educate today and tomorrow's students within today's very competitive nature of higher education.
The following minimums are required to establish a faculty endowment:
Provost of the College $2,500,000
Chair of the Department $1,500,000
Professorship $1,250,000
Development Professorship $ 500,000
If you have additional questions about establishing an endowed faculty fund please contact Timothy McElwee, Ph.D., Vice President for Advancement at 610-921-7501 or via email at tmcelwee@alb.edu.
Student Endowments
Perhaps one of the most important needs of the College is to increase scholarship endowment. Currently about five percent of all scholarships are backed by endowment earnings.
Donors can work with the Development Office to establish the criteria for selecting recipients. All scholarships are awarded in perpetuity. An annual scholarship luncheon provides an opportunity to meet with student recipients, and all scholarships are listed in the College catalog.
Scholarships can be endowed as follows:
Fully Endowed Scholarship: $400,000
Half Endowed Scholarship: $200,000
Partially Endowed Scholarship: $100,000
Established Endowed Scholarship: $ 25,000
If you have additional questions about establishing an endowed scholarship, please contact Timothy McElwee, Ph.D., Vice President for Advancement at 610-921-7501 or via email at tmcelwee@alb.edu.
Other Endowments
Endowed Commencement Awards
Commencement awards recognize outstanding accomplishment and contributions by graduating seniors. Awards are announced annually at an awards dinner and listed in the Commencement program.
The minimum amount required to endow one award is $3,000.
Endowed Book Awards
A College is only as good as its library. The Wilbur Gingrich Library is at the core of Albright's academic program.
The minimum required to establish a named, endowed book fund is $5,000. Books purchased from endowment earnings are "plated" with a book plate inside the front cover acknowledging the donor and any honorary or memorial recognition requested.
Capital Endowed Funds
An endowed fund can be established to benefit the learning environment on campus. Funds can benefit specific buildings, classrooms, or the grounds.
If you have additional questions about establishing an endowed fund please contact Timothy McElwee, Ph.D., Vice President for Advancement at 610-921-7501 or via email at tmcelwee@alb.edu.
