Meet Carl Gable

“I knew that it would change how marketable I was in the work force. I knew it would increase my income. What I didn't know is how it would change me as a person.”

Meet Carl Gable

Unlike the rest of my family, I didn't go to college after high school, but I was happy about my decision. I landed a great job and moved up quickly.

But there just came a point where I couldn't advance any further in my career. I started to develop a little bit of a chip on my shoulder because every time I tried to advance I was told that another person was "more qualified." What they meant by "more qualified" was that the other candidate had a degree (and I didn't). And each time it happened, the chip on my shoulder got a little bit bigger.

When I finally decided to go back to school, I'll be honest, I was worried about how I would balance the demands of work and my family. After all, I felt like I had very little free time before I went back to college. But once I started the program, it was simply an amazing experience for me.

Not only did I get a promotion in my job while in the program, but I've been able to directly apply so much of what I've learned. I finally understand some of the reasoning behind certain company decisions (and why they were effective). On the other hand, I can also advise my company on a whole new level.

I knew that the DCP program would change how marketable I was in the work force. I knew it would increase my income. What I didn't know is how the DCP program would change me as a person.

Before I started the program, I told my wife I should have been a college professor in another life. Now, I know I can be anything I want — including a professor — in this life.
